It's time for your students to schedule their New Sooner Orientation Day!
Incoming freshmen for fall 2021 can now schedule their New Sooner Orientation Day. New Sooner Orientation Days are full day programs for students to be advised, enroll in their first semester courses, and learn about OU resources that will help them through their time at OU. Parents or guardians are also invited to attend, and we will have parent- and family-focused sessions throughout the day. Registration will open April 1 for the Parent and Family Sessions at parents.ou.edu.
Students must complete each item below prior to scheduling an Orientation Day:
Set up OU account and email at account.ou.edu
Submit the enrollment deposit
Take the New Sooner Survey
Complete mandatory online training
New Sooner Orientation happens regularly throughout the summer (May through July). The deadline to schedule a New Sooner Orientation Day is June 15, 2021. Visit newsooner.ou.edu for more information.
New Sooner Orientation is closely monitoring Covid-19 and will make a decision later this Spring if OU will be able to safely have in-person sessions. For now, your students can sign up for their preference of an in-person or online session. If we are unable to have in-person sessions due to Covid-19, all New Sooner Orientation days will remain on the same day and move to an online format. If we are able to have in-person sessions, they will remain in-person and online sessions will remain in a Zoom format.
If you or your students have any questions, please contact your OU admissions counselor, Artemio Castillon, at acastillon@ou.edu.
